Meeting Mark Fiato

| I first met Mark on a Sunday morning bagel ride several years ago. I was relatively new to the club and it was my first time on that ride. He was warm and welcoming, and always had encouraging words to share. His smile would light up his face and his enthusiasm for riding and for life became quickly apparent to me. He loved to laugh and loved to make others laugh. Over the next weeks and months, we became friends, enjoyed many of the same rides and I eventually met his very special friend Charlie on a ride that the three of us did together. I later found out that Mark was on a mission of sorts for Charlie and I to meet. Over the next couple of years as I faced some of life’s challenges, Mark who I am honored to call my friend, continued to share his happy spirit and enthusiasm for life and for riding with me, and he continued to make me laugh. Charlie and I were privileged last October when Mark agreed to be Charlie’s best man at our wedding. It is still difficult to comprehend that he is not with us. In a way though he will always be with us, and he will forever be missed. Bonnie (Ryan) Adams |
